How did Southerners react to the election of Abraham Lincoln in 1860?

The Southerners did not like Lincoln so their reaction when Lincoln was elected in 1860 was i guess bad. Lincoln argued at the fact he wanted to free slaves and ban slavery.
And the Southerners (back at this time) dealt with slavery they had slaves in their homes doing their dirty work. 

So to answer this question is that the Southerners don't like Abraham Lincoln so hopefully this could help you what their reactions were.
