The kinetic energy of an object of mass m moving with speed v is given by:
[tex]K= \frac{1}{2}mv^2 [/tex]
For the bicycle in our problem, [tex]m=10 kg[/tex] and [tex]v=2 m/s[/tex], so the kinetic energy is
[tex]K= \frac{1}{2}(10 kg)(2 m/s)^2=20 J [/tex]
