Multiplication of fractions is simple, they don't have to be common denominators to be able to multiply. You just have to multiply the numerators and multiply the denominators for example; 1/3 × 1/2 = 1/6

Common denominators are only required in adding or subtracting fractions.

multiply across. Multiply the numerator or denominator. Remember what you do to the numerator you have to do to the denominator.
