The civil war helped the Comanche people out, they were the most powerful tribe to be found on the western frontier, and they moved into the southwestern area of the United States. They were called the Lords of the South Plains. They hunted many buffalo and formed an alliance with the Utes. Finally, in the 1850s they began to decline and lost many chiefs and warriors in battle. The Comanches simply wanted peace.
