To find the area of the top part of the crate, multiply the length and the width together. Do not multiply the height to anything as the height only measures how tall the box is and not the length or width of any of its bases (the top and bottom of the box). When you multiply the length, 3/4 and the width, 2/3, you should get 6/12 or when simplified, 1/2 yards squared as your answer for the area of the top of the crate.
