how does voice affect the credibility of text?

Voice can affect the feeling of literature or text. For example, if there's a period at the end of a sentence, you might read it as a very calm sentence, but if a narrator read it aloud, he might sound angry to better give the character credibility for how he was feeling and how he said the text.
