There are a few factors that explain the rise to power of Great Zimbabwe. One of them is the rich soils. Agriculture was cultivated in abundance here because of the rich black and red soil. As such, this great soil also lead to an abundance of pastures where many different types of livestock were raised. The area surrounding Great Zimbabwe was also free from diseases as well.
