though religion was not as dominant as it once was, it still played a role. this painting by Michalangelo clearly displayed the relationship betweeen the church and renaissance artists
Purely through speculation I would guess that the painting the question is referring to is The Last Judgment in st peters basilica. Even though michelangelo was forced to make it I do believe it shows a clear relationship between the church and renaissance artists.
(I am not positive just purely using prior knowledge.)
