How to find the variance of a sample with only mean standard deviation size?

the standard deviation is the square root of the variance

so if the variance is 100, then the standard deviation is sqrt 100 = 10
or, if u have the standard deviation of 10....then to find the variance, u square it....so the variance is 10^2 = 100
