Ribosomes help make proteins, and cells need ribosomes to make protein.

The job of ribosomes is to make protein that is used inside the cell. Your cells use proteins for structural units, as transportation mechanisms between the interior and exterior and as specialized catalysts (enzymes). Therefore, if you don't have ribosomes, the cells wouldn't live because they wouldn't have them to do the functions they need.
