Explain how businesses became monopolies during the Industrial revolution

Businesses became monopolys because durring the IR, they started to build up, business was booming and because of that, they grew sucessful. Some businesses like Standard Oil became really sucessful and bought out their competitors, and eventrually became a monopoly
