the y-intercept of a graph is the point on the graph where x=0, so you would substitute 0 for x in the equation and work out the equation from there
y=2(4^0)
anything to the power of 0 equals one so it can be rewritten as the following
y=2(1)
according to the identity property of multiplication, anything times 1 is itself therefore...
y=2
