The order of operations goes like this:
1. Parentheses
2. Exponents
3. Multiplication
4. Division
5. Addition
6. Subtraction
A way to remember them is: PEMDAS or for fun: Please excuse my dear aunt sally. That has helped me remember since 4th grade!
