how do i solve 20=5x+10y

To solve for y you'll want to set x equal to 0
So the equationl is 20=5(0)+10y
Distribute the five and the equation becomes
20=0+10y or
20=10y

Then divide each side by 10 to isolate y
20/10=2
10y/10=y

So y=2
