Hi! So because all the sides of the square are the same side, you multiple two of the side lengths together, so the area of the painting is 18 x 18 = 324  :) Good luck and do well in school!!!!!!!!

A square is a shape with equal sides so if the length is 18 in, the width would also be 18 in.
And to find the area of a square you multiply LxW 
So, you multiply 18x18= 324 in
The area of the painting would be 324 inches.
