The ordered pair is (- 5, - 2)

This means that when x = - 5, y = - 2

To determine if the ordered pair is a solution of the linear equation, We would substitute the values into the equation. If we substitute x = - 5 into the equation and y gives us - 2, then it is a solution.

Therefore,

y = - 5 - 1/2 = - 5 - 0.5

y = - 5.5

Since it is not - 2, then the answer is B

B- no it is not a solution
