Explanation

[tex]-2x-14=-2[/tex]

Step 1

add 14 in both sides,

[tex]\begin{gathered} -2x-14=-2 \\ -2x-14+14=-2+14 \\ -2x=12 \end{gathered}[/tex]

Step 2

divide both sides by -2

[tex]\begin{gathered} -2x=12 \\ \frac{-2x}{-2}=\frac{12}{-2} \\ x=-6 \end{gathered}[/tex]
