Probability is expressed as

number of favourable outcomes/total number of outcomes

When a coin is flipped, total number of possibilities = 2

It has 1 aed and 1 tail

Probability of getting a head = 1/2

For a deck of cards, the total number is 52. There are 26 black cards

Probability of drawing a black card = 26/52 = 1/2

The events are independent of each other(the outcome of one does not affect the other)

thus,

the probability that she gets “heads” and a black card = 1/2 x 1/2 = 1/4
