How to graph the solution of the absolute value inequality on the number line?

The absolute value inequality is given as:

4 > |x + 1| + 2

Subtract 2 from both sides of the absolute value inequality.

So, we have

2 > |x + 1|

Rewrite as

|x + 1| < 2

So, we plot the graph of  |x + 1| < 2 to represent 4 > |x + 1| + 2

See attachment for the graph
