Let A represent spending 10+ hours, and B represent having below $40,000

The probability is then calculated using:

P(A or B) = P(A) + P(B) = P(A and B)

This gives

P(A or B)= (476 + 621 - 131)/1601

Evaluate the sum and difference

P(A or B)= 966/1601

Divide

P(A or B)= 0.6034

Hence, the probability is 0.6034
