Given that nos. are in ratio 7:10

The larger no. is 140

Let the smaller no. be x

Using ratio and proportion

7 : 10 :: x : 140

⇒10 × x = 140 × 7

[tex]⇒x = \frac{140 \times 7}{10} = 98 \\ [/tex]
