If the function rule is y = x/2 + 3 and x = 8, what is the value of y?

You only need to replace the value of x in the function rule. You'll get:
[tex]y=\frac{x}{2}+3=\frac{8}{2}+3=4+3=7[/tex]

y = 8/2  + 3
