Given,

mass of snow flake = 2 kg

mass of midnight = 997 gm

Now,

1 kg = 1000 gm

2 kg = 1000 * 2

= 2000 gm

therefore the difference between the masses of the kittens = 2000

- 997

= 1003 gm (is the answer)
