A. Adverb phrase. An adjective phrase is what kind or which one. The sentence doesn't explain what kind or which one. But if you read the sentence "The cat under the couch is afraid of storms." you get the answer which is adverb phrase. An adverb phrase is where? when? How? or Why? So where is the cat. Under the couch.
