The theme of violence displayed by Stevenson in Jekyll and Hyde was detailed in two scenes of violence against innocent victims.

In one scene Mr Hyde takes his out on Sir Danvers Carew by beating him to death, and in the first chapter, he calmly trampled a screaming little girl in the street.
