We are told that a known factor is (x + 3),thus, using long division method, i have attached the steps used to get the other factor which is x² + 4x - 12

Now, using quadratic formula, we can further simplify x² + 4x - 12 to get factors of (x - 2) and (x + 6)

Hence, the new mathcal P (X) as a product of linear factors is;

P(X) = (x - 2) (x + 3) (x + 6)
