Given inequality:

Solving for [tex]x[/tex]

Subtracting by 8 both sides.

[tex]-4x+8-8>-8-8[/tex]

[tex]-4x>-16[/tex]

Dividing by -4 both sides.

[tex]\frac{-4x}{-4}<\frac{-16}{-4}[/tex]   [On multiplying and dividing by a negative number both sides the sign of the inequality is reversed]

[tex]x<4[/tex]
