Multiply.

Subtract.

63 - 12.60 = $50.40 (discounted price)

Turn sales tax into a decimal.

5% = 0.05

Multiply.

50.40 * 0.05 = $2.52 (tax amount)

Add.

50.40 + 2.52 = $52.92
