Answer:

x = 3+1/2 y -----Equation-1

-2x-y = 2 -------Equation-1

Multiplying equation 1 by 2  we get

2x = 2*(3+1/2y)

2x = 6+y

y = 2x-6

substituting the value of of y in equation2

-2x - (2x-6) = 2

-2x -2x +6 = 2

-4x = 2-6

-4x = -4

x = -4/-4 = 1

y = 2x-6 = 2-6 = -4

x = 1

y = -4

Answer:

x=0.75 and Y=-4.5

Step-by-step explanation:

let x=3+1/2y.....(1)

-2x-y=3.......(2)

substitute (1) into (2)

-2(3+1/2y)-y=3

-6-y-y=3

-2y=9

y=-9/2

put y=-9/2 into (1)

x=3+(1/2)(-9/2)

x=-4.5
