the answer is y = x2 − 4
if you try to factor out all of the equations given to you (ex. 0=x2+4x+2), the only equation that can be factored out is 
y = x2 − 4.

y = x2 − 4
0= x2 − 4
0=(x-2)(x+2)
0=x-2   0=x+2
2=x      x=-2
