Note that [tex]x^{\frac{1}{2}}=\sqrt[2]{x}[/tex]

Which means that:

[tex]512^{\frac{1}{2}}=\sqrt[2]{512}=\sqrt[2]{16^2\cdot2}=\boxed{16\sqrt[2]{2}}[/tex]

the answer is B.
