"5 times as great as k [/tex] means [tex] 5k [/tex]

So, the equation is

[tex] 60=5k [/tex]

To solve for k, divide both sides by 5:

[tex] \dfrac{60}{5} = \dfrac{5k}{5} [/tex]

Which leads to

[tex] k=12 [/tex]
