Democracy is a system of government by which the power of a country is held by the people through elected representatives. Five are the fundamental ideas by which this system is based:

  1. Worth of the individual.
  2. Equality of all persons.
  3. Political Representation.
  4. Political Participation.
  5. Protection of fundamental Rights.
