y = -x² + 2x + 1

[tex]x = \frac{-b}{2a}[/tex]
[tex]x = \frac{-2}{2(-1)}[/tex]
[tex]x = \frac{-2}{-2}[/tex]
[tex]x = 1[/tex]

y = -x² + 2x + 1
y = -(1)² + 2(1) + 1
y = -1 + 2 + 1
y = 1 + 1
y = 2
