Éste es mío translates to "this is mine" in English.  I assume that means that it is correct because it follows all the rules of grammar.

This is the correct expression in Spanish. "Esto es mio."

La conjugación de un verbo posesivo en Español sería, por ejemplo:

Pregunta (Question):

¿De quién es este libro? (Whose book is this?)

Es mio. (It's mine).

or

¿Es mio? (Is this mine?)

No, esto es mio. (No, this is mine.)
