Simplify the following:

5/(8 (6 + 2/3))

Put 6 + 2/3 over the common denominator 3. 6 + 2/3 = (3×6)/3 + 2/3:

5/(8 (3×6)/3 + 2/3)

3×6 = 18:

5/(8 (18/3 + 2/3))

18/3 + 2/3 = (18 + 2)/3:

5/(8 (18 + 2)/3)

| 1 |

| 1 | 8

+ | | 2

| 2 | 0:

(5/8)/(20/3)

Multiply the numerator by the reciprocal of the denominator, (5/8)/(20/3) = 5/8×3/20:

(5×3)/(8×20)

5/20 = 5/(5×4) = 1/4:

3/(8×4)

8×4 = 32:

Answer:  3/32
