we are given

[tex](-3+5i)^2[/tex]

we can expand it

[tex](-3+5i)^2=(-3+5i)(-3+5i)[/tex]

now, we can FOIL it

[tex](-3+5i)^2=-3\times -3-3\times 5i+5i\times -3+5i\times 5i[/tex]

now, we can simplify it

[tex](-3+5i)^2=9-15i-15i+25i^2[/tex]

we know that

[tex]i^2=-1[/tex]

so, we can plug it

[tex](-3+5i)^2=9-30i+25(-1)[/tex]

[tex](-3+5i)^2=9-30i-25[/tex]

[tex](-3+5i)^2=-16-30i[/tex]..............Answer
