Explain why the rules called the algebraic order of operations are necessary for computation

The rules are necessary, so that there is agreement as to how to evaluate an expression. By having rules, and having everyone follow the rules, an expression can have only one single correct value. If there are no rules, then different people will interpret the expression differently, and will get different values for its evaluation.
