2g+10=24.
2g=14
G=7

You start with 2g+10=24, and you want to isolate g. So you would subtract 10 from each side. This would leave you with 2g=14. Now you divide each side by 2, finally isolating the variable. This would give you g=7

Does this help? If not, I can explain better.
