The printing press is one of the most important inventions in history. Thanks to the printing press, books could be reprinted much faster than in the past. Because books could be produced more easily, they also became much cheaper. As the price dropped, books became more commonplace and were acquired by a wider variety of people. This allowed culture and knowledge to extend in an unprecedented way.
