By the out setting resting length Total force is altered. By extending the muscle or shortening it, both methods altered the total force created by the muscle. If the muscle is extended the passive force escalates and if the muscle is contracted the active force escalates. With each force the total force is altered trusting on the amount of either A or P forces.
