The internationalists believed that the US should play more active role in the war.
In the beginning of the war, the US continued following its isolationist policy and was largely neutral in the war. The internationalists where a group that, as their name suggests, were interested in the international affairs and believed that US should and had to take more active role and join the war on the side of the Allies.
